Saudi King names Sheikh Hussain Al-Sheikh for Arafat Sermon

Riyadh, Aug 19 (Just News): Sheikh Dr Hussain bin Abdul Aziz al-Sheikh will deliver the 1439 (2018) Khutbah (religious sermon) and lead the combined shortened Dhuhr (noon) and Asr (pre-dusk) prayers at the Masjid Al-Nimra, one of the Holy sites on the plains of Arafat.

The prayers, which are among the rites of Hajj, will be held on the 9th of Dhul Hijja (August 20, 2018).

The directive was communicated in a royal order by the Custodian of the Holy Mosques in Saudi Arabia, King Salman bin Abdulaziz.

Brief bio
Sheikh Dr Hussain is a presiding Judge in one of the High Courts in Madinah and also one of the leading Imams of Prophet Muhammad’s Mosque.

The erudite Juror, Imam, Speaker and Teacher is a descendant of the late famous Saudi reformist, Shaykh Muhammad bin Abdulwahab bin Musharraf Tamimi.

Born in Bani Tamim in southern Saudi Arabia, Sheikh Dr Hussain began his scholarly career in the Saudi capital, Riyadh.

Sheikh Hussain has been leading prayers at the Masjid Al-Nabawi for over two decades and is also a lecturer in the famous Jami’atul (University of) Madinah.

Voice of Nigeria reports that Sheikh Dr Hussain is among those accorded the status of a Khadibiy (one who leads congregations in the performance of the five daily prayers and the Salat al-Jummu’ah or Friday prayers), in the Prophet’s Mosque.

Not all Imams who lead daily prayers in the Mosque are authorised to lead the Friday prayers.
