39 foreigners freed hours after detention at Rohingya camp

Dhaka, Mar 11 (Just News): Police on Sunday detained 39 foreign nationals from near the Shaheed Minar area in Ukhia upazila of Cox's Bazar as they allegedly tried to enter the Rohingya camps without valid documents.

The foreigners were detained from 8:00am to 11:00am and later they were freed on bond around 2:30pm, said officer-in-charge of Ukhia police station Abul Khayer.

The detainees started working at the Rohingya camps without any work permit and other valid documents, he said.

They hail from different countries, including Malaysia, Canada, Switzerland, Netherlands and Italy, he added.
