BNP terms govt celebration of graduation from LDC as ‘perverted fun’

Dhaka, Mar 22 (Just News): Bangladesh Nationalist Party senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi on Thursday termed the government's programmes to celebrate graduation of Bangladesh from Least Development Countries as 'perverted fun'.

While addressing a news briefing at the party's central office at Naya Paltan in Dhaka, Rizvi said, ‘In the name of celebration, ruling party men are blocking the city roads halting public life. People are waiting in the streets for transports for hours.’

He mentioned that the government said that they would not allow any programme that might create public suffering; but they were creating public suffering in the name of celebration.

Rizvi alleged that government officials and employees were being 'forced' to participate in the programmse of ruling Awami League.

He said the ruling party was 'plundering public money' in the name of development as development in the country devoid democracy.

The senior joint secretary general came down hard on the government's move to erase the name of Zia from Shisu Park in Dhaka.
