Bogra, May 23 (Just News): Five people were killed and seven injured as a truck hit a human hauler, locally known as Leguna, in Shahjahanpur upazila of Bogra this morning.
The deceased are Anwar Hossain, 50, of Khadash Pashchimpara village in Shahjahanpur upazila; Arifur Rahman Sumon, 32, of Kukrul in Sadar upazila; Mokhlesur Rahman, 52, of Nimgram and Ramjan Ali, 60, of Chakalma village in Nandigram upazila; and Faruk Hossain, 30, of Khirkhanda village in Sherpur upazila of the district.
Of them, Arifur Rahman was the audit officer of a non-government organisation, Thengamara Mahila Sabuj Shangha (TMSS).
All the deceased were passengers of Leguna, said Additional Superintendent of Police (Sadar Circle) Sanatan Chakrabarty.
The ASP said a Bogra-bound truck from Natore rammed an oncoming human hauler at Birgram on Natore-Bogra highway around 9:00am.
The injured are admitted to Bogra Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital.
