Another ‘drug trader’ killed in alleged gunfight

Dhaka, Jun 3 (Just News): A suspected drug trader was killed in a reported gunfight with members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in Golra village of Kalihati upazila in Tangail district early Sunday.

The deceased is Ruhul alias Kailya Ruhul.

With the death of Ruhul, the number of toll has risen to 130 during the anti-narcotics drives across the country in the last 20 days.

Of the 130, 68 people were killed in alleged gunfights with police and DB members, 34 with RAB and 28 were killed during gunfights between rival groups, claimed law enforcement agencies.

The gunfight took place around 2:00am which left Ruhul dead on the spot, said RAB-12 company commander Nazmul Alam.

Two men of the force were also injured in the gunfight, he added.

However, the reported incident of gunfight could not be verified independently.
