BNP rejects govt offer of CMH

Dhaka, June 13 (Just News): Ignoring the government's latest offer, Bangladesh Nationalist Party secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir on Wednesday asked the government to immediately transfer the party's ailing imprisoned chairperson Khaleda Zia to United Hospital in the capital for her better treatment.

On Tuesday home minister Asaduzzaman Khan said Khaleda Zia would be offered treatment at Combined Military Hospital in Dhaka as she is unwilling to take treatment at Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University following Khaleda's younger brother Shamim Eskander appealed to the minister for her immediate treatment at United Hospital.

Addressing an iftar party in the city, Fakhrul said nowhere in the jail code stated that treatment could not be done except the government hospital.

He said BNP has declared that the party would bear the all expenses of Khaleda's treatment at the United Hospital.

Her family also stated about bear the treatment costs of Khaleda at the specialised hospital, Fakhrul said.

He hoped that good sense would prevail upon the government over Khaleda's treatment.
