Sylhet, Dec 11 (Just News): A fire has been reported from a power substation in the northeastern Sylhet district.
Flames erupted at the 230kV substation in Fenchuganj Upazila around 11am on Monday, said Sylhet Fire Service Deputy Director ABM Ferdous.
It took five fire-fighting units around one and a half hours to put out the blaze.
Firefighters are yet to determine the cause of the fire. Officials of the Power Development Board said the substation supplied power to the Bibiana Gas Field in Habiganj.
The fire has completely damaged one of the transformers at the substation.
