IOM official found dead in Cox’s Bazar hotel

Cox’s Bazar, July 27 (Just News): Police recovered a body of an official of the International Organization for Migration (IOM), the UN agency focused on migration, from a hotel in the district town on Thursday night.

The deceased is Tauhidul Alam, 32, son of Sirajul Islam, hailing from Potia upazila in the district.

He had been working as senior program assistant of the organization.

Officer-in-charge of Cox’s Bazar Model police station Md Farid Uddin Khondakar said police recovered the body from Hotel Holy Day around 9:30pm and sent it to Cox’s Bazar Sadar Hospital for autopsy.

“Tauhidul might have died of stroke,” the OC added.

Md Alamgir, another IOM official, claimed the death of Tauhidul may not be natural, it’s mysterious.
