Shahidul Alam faked limping in front of camera: Joy

Dhaka, Aug 11 (Just News): Award-winning photographer Shahidul Alam has faked limping in front of the camera while he was taking to the court, says Sajeeb Wazed Joy, the son of Prime Minister and Awami League President Sheikh Hasina.

“Alam is making false claims of torture in court and playacting in front of cameras pretending he is having trouble walking,” Joy said in a Facebook post on Saturday.

His post came six days after detectives picked up Alam from his city residence on Aug 5. Alam has been charged with spreading false information through social media under the ICT Act's Section 57.

Joy said, “Alam's claim of torture is yet another one of his false claims against our Government.”

“He (Alam) was taken to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University Hospital and examined by doctors there. They found absolutely no injuries or indication of torture. Even the international media spoke directly with hospital officials and they confirmed this,” reads the post.

“This just proves how dishonest Shahidul Alam is,” Joy said.

On Friday, Joy said Alam took the social media to incite violence during the student protest for safer roads.
