Dhaka, Sep 5 (Just News): Sushasoner Jonno Nagarik secretary Badiul Alam Majumder on Wednesday said that free and fair elections was not possible under the present Election Commission.
He made the remarks at a press conference at Dhaka Reports Unity on recently held Rajshahi and Sylhet city corporations mayoral polls.
Quoting recent remarks of the chief election commissioner KM Nurul Huda that there was no guarantee that there would be no irregularity in the next general elections, Badiul Alam said there was no way of holding the free and fair polls under the commission.
Sujon also urged the Election Commission for taking a combined plan so that the next general elections could be acceptable to all.
Sujon central coordinator Dilip Kumar Sarkar and its Dhaka city unit vice-president Nazim Uddin, among others, were present at the press conference.
