63 Bangladeshis sent back from Malaysia airport

Dhaka, Oct 14 (Just News): Malaysian authorities have deported 63 Bangladeshi workers, who have waited at the Kuala Lumpur Airport for two days for a representative of the employer to receive them.

A US Bangla Airlines flight flew them to Dhaka, which landed at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport on Saturday night.

One of the workers, Rinku said “Sixty-three of us went to Malaysia to work for one Supermax Corporation.”

Supermax is Malaysia's largest and the world's second largest producer of rubber gloves.

He said they landed in Kuala Lumpur on Oct 11.

“No one received us there. Two days later, the immigration sent us back,” said Rinku, who hails from Chandpur.

He said they have got in touch with the Bangladesh recruiting agency, who said they would be able to fly for Malaysia again within more or less a week.

Bangladesh Association of International Recruiting Agencies (BAIRA) has described the incident as a “communication gap” between the recruiting agency and the employing company.

“The Ministry is aware of the incident and we are looking into it,” said its General Secretary Shamim Ahmed Chowdhury said.

He said they have contacted the recruiting agencies to send the workers again.
“No worker will be charged more and if anyone is unwilling to go, their money will be returned,” said Chowdhury.
