DU students threaten tougher movement

Dhaka, Oct 18 (Just News): A day after the result of Dhaka University’s “Gha unit” admission test was published, Dhaka University students threatened to go for tougher movement if the authorities do not cancel the admission test results by today.

The "Gha" unit exam must be cancelled and fresh exam has to be held. The culprits involved with the question paper leak have to be identified and tried under the law, Rashed Khan, joint convener of the Bangladesh Sadharon Chhatra Odhikar Songrokkhon, said.

The students under the banner of Bangladesh Sadharon Chhatra Odhikar Songrokkhon Parishad brought out a protest rally demanding cancellation of "Gha" unit entry test amid widespread allegations of leakage of that unit's question paper.

Students paraded through the campus around 12:30pm, formed a human chain and held a rally in front of the Raju Sculpture.

They expressed solidarity with Akhtar Hossen who has been continuing his solitary hunger strike for the third straight day today demanding the same.

Another joint convener of the platform Bin Yeamin Molla said, “Dhaka University is our pride. So, playing with the image of the university cannot be justified”.

They also demanded that the university authorities should visit Akhtar Hossen immediately to fulfill his demands and break his hunger strike.

The protesting students also claimed that the top hundred qualifiers in the "Gha" unit exam are those who failed in their respective unit's examinations.

So, that is enough to proof the effects of the question leak, they said.

In order to save the image of the university, the exam must be cancelled and new exam should be held, Bin Yeamin Molla added.
