Cops allow vehicles to enter Dhaka after search

Dhaka, Nov 6 (Just News): Police are allowing public transports to enter Dhaka only after conducting a search at Gabtoli, an entry point of the capital, ahead of today’s rally of Jatya Oikyafront, creating tailback up to Savar.

Traffic was moving very slowly due to the search.

From 8:00am this morning, a tailback was seen stretching up to Savar area causing public suffering.

Police, however, said that it was a regular drive.

“Only the number of on-duty police officials have been increased," said Selimuzzaman, officer-in-charge of Darussalam Police Station.

Earlier on Friday, BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi, on behalf of the Oikyafront, announced the rally at a press conference at BNP's Nayapaltan central office.

It will be the third rally of the Oikyafront after similar rallies in Sylhet on October 24 and in Chattogram on October 27.

BNP and three other political parties including Dr Kamal Hossain-led Jatiya Oikya Prokriya formally launched Jatiya Oikyafront on October 13. The two other partners in the alliance were Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal (JSD) led by ASM Abdur Rab and Nagorik Oikya led by Mahmudur Rahman Manna.

Krishak Sramik Janata League also joined the opposition alliance Jatiya Oikyafront, the party’s President Kader Siddique announced yesterday.
