Eid-e-Miladunnabi 21 Nov

Dhaka, Nov 9 (Just News): Eid-e-Miladunnabi, the day of birth and demise of Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (SM), will be observed in the country on 21 November as the moon of Rabiul Awal was sighted in Bangladesh sky on Friday.

According to UNB, the decision was taken at a meeting of the National Moon Sighting Committee held at the Islamic Foundation's Baitul Mukarram office, said an Islamic Foundation press release.

Religious affairs secretary Anisur Rahman presided over the meeting attended, among others, by joint secretary to the religious affairs ministry MA Hamid Jamaddar, Islamic Foundation secretary Kazir Nurul Islam, Govt Alia Madrasa principal M Alamgir Rahman and Baitul Mukarram National Mosque imam Muhammad Mizanur Rahman.

On this day in 570, the 12th of Rabiul Awal of the Hijri calendar, Muhammad (pbuh) was born in Makkah of Saudi Arabia with divine blessings and messages of peace for mankind. He also passed away on the same day.
