Dhaka, Nov 16 (Just News): Mentioning that there is no example of holding 100 percent fair general election anywhere in the world, Election Commissioner Kabita Khanam today said it is also not possible in Bangladesh.
“There is no example of holding 100 percent fair election anywhere of the world. It will not be possible in our country. So, we want to say that we will have to hold an acceptable election, which will remain beyond question,” she said.
Kabita Khanam was speaking at a day-long briefing with the assistant returning officers of Rajshahi, Rangpur and Khulna divisions at Dhaka’s Nirbachan Bhaban today.
There is a congenial atmosphere for elections across the country and the election officials will have to perform their duties as per the directives of the EC to maintain the good environment for elections, she said.
“We want cooperation from all sides to hold a free, fair and inclusive election,” Kabita Khanam added.
