Dhaka, Nov 20 (Just News): Rights group Ain O Salish Kendra (ASK) has recorded 437 extra-judicial killings taking place in 2018, the year of the 11th parliamentary election.
During January to October, 26 people were made victims of enforced disappearance.
According to statistics unveiled by the group today, during May to October, 276 people were killed in anti-narcotics drives carried out by law enforcers.
They also reported, National Human Rights Commission did not receive response from local authorities over 300 inquiries it made into incidents of rights violation during 2012 to 2017.
The findings were unveiled at a programme organised at The Daily Star Centre.
Among those present were Sheepa Hafiza, executive director for Ain O Salish Kendra, and Kazi Rezaul Hoq, chairman of National Human Rights Commisison.
