Narayanganj, Jan 26 (Just News) : Police have recovered the pistol of Niazul Islam Khan, a close aide of Awami League MP Shamim Osman, which was lost during a clash between the supporters of Narayanganj Mayor Selina Hayat Ivy and Osman.
Law enforcers found the pistol wrapped with a polythene in a flower tub in front of Saint Paul's Church at about 2am, said Sharfuddin, additional superintendent of Narayanganj police.
There were 10 bullets in the pistol's magazine. Although the pistol was recovered, but it's owner Niazul is yet to be nabbed, he added.
On January 16, a fierce clash was ensued as supporters of Shamim Osman attacked Ivy and her followers on Bangabandhu Road in Chashara over eviction of hawkers from footpaths in the city.
Niazul was seen brandishing a pistol in photographs taken during the clash. The photographs were published on newspapers.
