BSF beat Bangladeshi to death

Dhaka, Jan 28 (Just News): A Bangladeshi young man was allegedly beaten to death by members of Border Security Force of India (BSF) near Burimari border in Patgram upazila of Lalmonirhat early Sunday.

The deceased, identified as Manjurul Alam, 21, son of Asadul Islam, a resident of Ufarmara village in the upazila, was a cattle trader.

BSF members picked up Manjur last night after chasing a group of cattle traders who went inside India. Later, they allegedly beat Manjur to death and left his body at zero point, said BGB sources.

BGB members at Burimari camp sent the body to Patgram police station.

Major Syed Moniruzzaman, acting commanding officer of BGB Battalion 61, said they had sent a letter to the BSF protesting the incident. However, BSF have not replied yet.
