Dhaka, Dec 4 (Just News): Bikalpa Dhara Bangladesh, Krishak Sramik Janata League, Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal and Nagarik Oikya on Monday formed a new political alliance called Juktafront, making former president AQM Badruddoza Chowdhury its convener.

The alliance was formed at a meeting of the senior leaders of the four parties at the residence of Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal president ASM Abdur Rab in Uttara of the capital.

They said they’ve formed the alliance keeping the next general elections in view in order to “restore democracy” in the country.

Senior leaders of the four parties including Bikalpa Dhara Bangladesh president and former president AQM Badruddoza Chowdhury, Krishak Sramik Janata League president Abdul Kader Siddique, Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal president ASM Abdur Rab and Nagarik Oikya convener Mahmudur Rahman Manna were present at the meeting.

Speaking to a group of newsmen after the formation of the alliance, its convener Badruddoza Chowdhury, better known as B Chowdhury, said they’ve formed the alliance in the month of victory - December - with a view to fulfilling the people’s hopes and aspirations of the liberation.

“We’ve formed the alliance keeping the next general elections in view, in order to restore democracy as per the people’s aspirations and to build the country after the election,” B Chowdhury told the newsmen.

He went on saying, “We’ve just sowed the seed of a platform of those who love the country and want to work for the betterment of the people. We welcome everyone who wants to join us.”

They said they’ve appointed no office bearers of the alliance as yet, except for its convener, and the framework of the alliance would be devised later.

Police had foiled a similar meeting at Rab’s residence in July this year.
