Dhaka, Mar 26 (Just News): BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia should be released from jail to ensure national elections with everyone’s participation, BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir said today.
The BNP leader came up with the comments after paying his respects at the grave of the party’s founder Ziaur Rahman at Sher-e-Bangla Nagar in Dhaka.
“We want an election with everyone’s participation under a neutral government. That is why we demand Khaleda Zia and other political prisoners should be released,” Fakhrul told journalists.
Khaleda Zia landed in prison on February 8 after she was handed the five-year jail sentence by a Dhaka court for misappropriating a donation fund of the Zia Orphanage Trust.
