BNP to contest next polls under Khaleda Zia’s leadership

Dhaka, May 19 (Just News): Hitting back at ruling Awami League general secretary Obaidul Quder’s claim that the Bangladesh Nationalist Party on Saturday said it would no step aside from the next general election.

Quader on Friday had said that the BNP is gradually stepping aside from the next general election.

In response, BNP senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi at a news briefing at the party's central office said BNP is not going away rather they (Awami League) were again hatching conspiracy to hold general election like January 5, 2014.

He warned that the 'farce' of holding election excluding BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia and her party would not be allowed to take place.

Khaleda Zia would lead BNP in the election, Rizvi said, adding people would not allow any election under Sheikh Hasina in the country.
