Dhaka, July 13 (Just News): Bangladesh Nationalist Party on Friday claimed that prime minister Sheikh Hasina’s sympathy to Liberation War and freedom fighters is nothing but ‘bluff’.
BNP senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi made the remarks at a news conference at the party’s central office referring to the prime minister’s statement made at parliament on Thursday that freedom fighter’s quota could not be scrapped for having the verdict of the High Court.
Rizvi questioned then why she (PM) had stated about cancelling about quota in parliament in the face of students’ movement, saying the verdict of the High Court was remained then.
Did not she then remember about freedom fighters, Rizvi asked.
The BNP leader said the announcement of the prime minister before the nation means equivalent to law and would have to execute it.
He said the quota reform demonstrators did not want cancellation of quota, rather their demand was reformation of quota system.
Rizvi said the prime minister’s Thursday’s statement cleared that she had resorted to deceive to mislead student movement by announcing in parliament in April about abolishing quota system.
