CPB for resignation of cabinet, dissolution of JS before polls

Dhaka, Oct 1 (Just News): The Communist Party of Bangladesh on Monday said the cabinet should step down and parliament should be dissolved before announcement of the schedule of the next general election.

It also demanded formation of election- time caretaker government after holding dialogue with the political parties as no free, fair and credible election can be held under a partisan government.

CPB organised the press conference at its central office where the party president Mujahidul Islam Selim said that if needed there is a chance of amendment of constitution to realise the demands of the opposition political parties.

‘Our party will continue movements out on the streets for holding an inclusive, free, fair and credible national election,’ Selim said.

The party will hold a red flag procession in Dhaka, starting from in front of the National Press Club on October 5, to press home the demands, Selim announced.

‘Our party will not join either Awami League-led alliance or BNP led alliance rather it will work for strengthening a third left political force,’ Selim said.

Mohamad Shahe Alam, general secretary of the CPB, readout a written speech at the press conference.

Central leaders of the party Ahsan Habib Lablu, Ruhin Hossain Prince , Sajjad Zahir Chandan and others attended the press conference.
