‘Joy Bangla’ slogan greets BNP, Juktafront, Oikya Prakriya meet

Dhaka, Oct 12 (Just News): A group of people chanting ‘Joy Bangla’ slogan brought out a procession in the area of Uttara where Bangladesh Nationalist Party-Juktafront-Jatiya Oikya Prokriya leaders sat in a meeting in the capital Friday afternoon.

The joint meeting started around 3:30pm in the residence of Juktafront leader ASM Abdur Rob, also president of Jatiya Samajtantrik Dal faction, to finalise the common goals and demands of the coalition.

A group of people brought out a procession chanting ‘Joy Bangla’ and ‘conspirators’ on the road in front of Rob’s residence around 5:45pm when the meeting was underway, witnesses said identifying the participants in the procession as ruling Awami League and Chhatra League activists of Uttara unit.

The joint meeting almost finalised the seven common demands and 11 common goals in the meeting, a Jatiya Oikya Prokriya leader present at the meeting said.

He said the meeting also discussed movement programme but did not finalise it.

The joint meeting would again be held today, the leader said.

After the meeting, Nagorik Oikya convener Mahmudur Rahman Manna told journalists that they fixed a draft of common demands and goals, saying they would finalise them today and announce those later.

BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, standing committee members Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain, Moudud Ahmed, Juktafront leaders ASM Abdur Rob, Mahmudur Rahman Manna and Mahi B Chowdhury, Jatiya Oikya Prokriya leaders Mostafa Mohsin Montu, Subrata Chowhdury and Sultan Muhammed Mansur Ahmad, among others, were present at the meeting that ended around 6:30pm.

Juktafront is comprised of Bikolpodhara Bangladesh of AQM Badruddoza Chowdhury, JSD (Rob) and Nagorik Oikya.
