JCD leader killed in Sylhet infighting

Sylhet, Jan 1 (Just News): A local leader of Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) was killed in a factional clash in Court Point area of the city on Monday afternoon.

The deceased was identified as Abul Hasnat Shimu, former assistant organizing secretary of JCD Sylhet city unit.

According to JCD source, when a group of JCD leaders and activists brought out a procession marking the founding anniversary of the party a clash broke out among themselves over standing on the front row.

During the clash, an activist stabbed Shimu with a sharp weapon, leaving him critically injured.

Shimu was rushed to Sylhet Osmani Medical College Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries around 4pm, said Officer-in-Charge of Kotwali Model Police Station Gowsul Hossain.
