Nikki denied Hasina’s remarks on Trump unwillingness

M Mushfiqul Fazal from New York, Sep 22 (Just News): Denying the remarks of the Bangladesh Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the US ambassador to the United Nations Nikki Haley said we are doing all we can. I think the United States has been taken aback that so much has happened and gone in such a terrible direction in the last three to four weeks.

Nikki made this remark at a briefing in New York in reply a question of JustnewsBD editor and UN correspondent M Mushfiqul Fazal on Thursday.

At the special briefing for White House Correspondents Mushfiqul asked Bangladesh prime minister had a conversation with President Trump on Rohingya issue and after the conversation she said to one of the international news agency that President Trump is not willing to resolve this issue. But we can understand the United States is doing a lot to resolve this issue. So will you make any comment about Bangladesh PM remarks to the international news agency?

Secondly, will you give any time limit to the Myanmar authority to return back the refugees, as Bangladesh is facing a huge crisis to accommodate these numbers of refugees in the Bangladesh territory?

In reply Ambassador Nikki said that I think the United States has been taken aback that so much has happened and gone in such a terrible direction in the last three to four weeks. And I think what you're seeing is every member of the national security team is talking about it, and every member of the national security team right now is calling their contacts and their counterparts in Burma, as well as making sure that we're supporting Bangladesh in what they're doing.

Bangladesh has been unbelievable in taking on these refugees. But at the same time, we have to look at the refugees as now they have no home. And it's no way for any one person to live. The human rights situation is terrible, and we want to make sure that we're doing all we can, she added.

Ambassador Nikki said all hands on deck in terms of the National Security Council trying to look at it and say, what steps are going to take next.
