Maradona wants to call Messi and explain critical remarks

Dhaka, Oct 17 (Just News): Diego Maradona’s lawyer Matias Morla gave an interview and confirmed that on Tuesday there will be a telephone call with Lionel Messi.

Maradona was critical of Messi’s leadership skills and brought in focus the nervousness that might have been showcased by the Argentine before games, saying “It's useless to make a leader of a guy who goes to the bathroom 20 times before a game.”

But Maradona’s lawyer said that those comments were ‘misunderstood’ and Maradona will call Messi to explain what he meant.

"Maradona is going to call Messi to explain what he meant," Morla told America 24's 'Luis Novaresio Entrevista' programme. “He has always supported the national team and what he meant was that they shouldn't drive Messi crazy anymore and that he is not a leader, unlike what was said.”

Former Argentina World Cup winner Mario Kempes was critical of Maradona after his comments regarding Messi. “Every time Maradona opens his mouth it's a problem because he doesn't respect,” Kempes noted. “[However], he was respected as he lost a final in Italy and nobody said anything, as we blamed a thousand other things.”

Apparently, Maradona is now hurt because of Kempes’s comments and wants to clarify his comments to Messi.

“Maradona is sad, as he was very hurt by what [Mario] Kempes said afterwards.”

Maradona’s former physical trainer Fernando Signorini also spoke about the comments regarding Messi.

“We know that Diego for a long time is a victim of a brutal disease like addiction and from there you have to draw an analysis. You cannot speak so freely and with such ferocity about Diego.”
