Rajshahi rout Sylhet comfortably

Dhaka, Nov 17 (Just News): Rajshahi Kings tasted the second win shocking Sylhet Sixers by a comfortable seven-wicket win at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium in Mirpur on Friday.

With the day's well merited results, Rajshahi Kings advanced to the 5th slot in the seven-team fray while Sylhet Sixers remained at the second slot with seven points from seven matches, despite the day's defeat.

Chasing a moderate target of 147 runs, Rajshahi Kings easily reached their ultimate goal scoring 150 runs for the loss of three wickets in only 17.3 overs featuring two good partnerships in the opening and 4th wicket stand.

Top order national coloured batsman Mominul Haque pairing with Rony Talukder made good a foundation of Rajshahi innings scoring 65 runs in the opening stand while Bangladesh Test Captain Mushifiur Rahim partnering with two down Zakir Hasan guided the team toward victory contributing an unbeaten 53 runs in 4th wicket stand.

Zakir Hasan made a half century quick-firing 51 runs off just 26 balls featuring four fours and three sixes, opener Mominul Haque scored 36-ball 42 runs hitting five fours and a six, number five Mushfiqur Rahman contributed an unbeaten 25 runs off 20 balls with three fours while Rony Talukder made 22-ball 24 runs with two fours and one six. Abul Hasan, captain Nasir Hossain and Nabil Samad grabbed one wicket each conceding 17, 20 and 27 runs respectively.

Earlier, sent in to bat first, Sylhet Sixers scored 146 for 6 in stipulated 20 overs featuring 69 runs in 6th wicket partnership between national all rounder Sabbir Rahman and English batsman Tim Bresnam.

Number six batsman Sabbir hammered 26-ball 41 with one boundary and four over boundaries, one down Sri Lankan batsman Danushka Gunathilaka contributed 37-ball 40 runs with four hits to fence and two over the fence while lower order Tim Bresnam scored not out 29 off 17 balls, hitting four fours and one six.
