Female MP ‘assaulted’ by Juba League leader

Dhaka, Nov 10 (Just News): A Juba League leader allegedly assaulted a female MP, Amatul Kibria Keya, in Habiganj on Friday.

The ruling Awami League's youth wing leader is Tara Miah, vice-chairman of Bahubal upazila parishad and a leader of upazila unit Juba League.

Bahubal Upazila Nirhabi Officer (UNO) Rafiqul Islam and officer-in-charge of Bahubal police station Mashuk Ali said that Tara Miah and his followers swooped on Keya, while she was distributing cheques among the fire victims at Mirpur Bedepalli.

She is a member of parliament from female reserve seat-28.

Keya said the attackers also snatched her mobile phone during the attack.

As she fell sick after the assault, the female MP was taken to MAG Osmani Medical College Hospital in Sylhet.
