Two proxy examinees at IU jailed

Kushtia, Dec 4 (Just News): Islamic University (IU) authorities arrested two proxy examinees during the second shift admission test of 'B' unit under Humanities and Social Science Faculty for 2017-18 academic session on Monday. 

The arrestees were identified as Kawsar Ali, also a former student of IU's Applied Nutrition and Food Technology Department, and M Alam, an Economics Department student of Bogra Azizul Haque College.  IU Proctor Prof Dr M Mahbubar Rahman told UNB that duty invigilators suspected the duo seeing their behaviour and informed the matter to the proctorial body. 

At one stage, they confessed to acting as proxy. Kawsar was appearing at the examination for Rifat Sheikh while Alam for Sohanur Rahman. 

Later, a mobile court sentenced them to one-year imprisonment and fined Kawsar Tk 40,000 and Alam Tk 10,000, he said.
