Dhaka, Jan 22 (Just News): Demonstrating teachers of MPO-enlisted institutions today declared a nationwide strike of secondary and higher secondary schools in demand for immediate nationalisation.
The call came this afternoon, on the eighth day of hunger strike of "Besarkari Shikhkha Jatiyakaran Liaison Forum", a platform of six organisations of teachers and employees.
GM Shawon, joint convener of the platform, said teachers will abstain from taking classes on January 23, 24, and 25 across all secondary and higher secondary schools in the country.
Earlier, they observed a similar strike yesterday as hundreds of teachers continue staging the strike in front of Jatiya Press Club in Dhaka city.
Several hundred MPO-enlisted teachers began the indefinite hunger strike in front of the Jatiya Press Club in Dhaka on January 15 to press home their demand. Earlier, they staged a sit-in for five days since January 10.
