SI Tutul tests positive for COVID-19

National Film Award winning music director, composer, and singer SI Tutul tested positive for COVID-19 on Friday.

He uploaded a post on his official Facebook page at noon in this connection and requested all to pray for him.

‘I gave my swab sample for COVID-19 test on August 17 and received the result, which was positive, on Friday,’ said Tutul.

‘My fans are encouraging me on social media and they are praying for me. I’m better and strong enough now,’ he added.

Shahidul Islam Tutul was born on April 28, 1969, in Shatkhira. He began his music carrier in 2005. He was a founding member of the band LRB.

SI Tutul won National Film Award in categories namely Best Music Director for the film ‘Daruchini Dwip’ in 2007, Best Male Playback Singer for the film ‘Bhalobashlei Ghor Badha Jay Na’ in 2010, Best Male Playback Singer and Best Music Composer for the film ‘Bapjaner Bioscope’ in 2015.

Besides, he won an award at the Chennai International Film Festival for the film ‘Nirontor’ in 2006. He was the music director of the film.
