National award-winning veteran actor Akbar Hossain Pathan, popularly known as Farooque, has been admitted to the incentive care unit (ICU) of a Singaporean hospital.
The development took place after the physical condition of Farooque, also an Awami League lawmaker from the Dhaka 17 parliamentary constituency, started to deteriorate on Saturday morning,.
Confirming the update, his niece Asma Pathan, said Farooque had gone to Singapore on March 4 to get a routine check-up.
“Everything was fine—but all of a sudden he started feeling unwell in the morning [on Saturday]. So we had to rush him to the hospital where he has been admitted in the ICU,” she said.
Asma, also an actor-cum-presenter, said her uncle has been placed under observation and has requested all to pray for his quick recovery.
