Criminal Investigation Department has submitted a five-day remand prayer for film actress Pori Moni in a case filed with Banani Police Station under the Narcotics Control Act.
However, hearing on the bail petition filed by Pori Moni, which was supposed to be held today, was differed to tomorrow.
Both the prosecution and defence were present at the court to place their submissions in support and against the bail petition.
But General Recording Officer Sub-Inspector Alomgir Hossain placed the case file and informed both the parties about the remand prayer submitted by CID Inspector Kazi Golam Mostafa, also the investigation officer of the case, on August 16.
The court, however, fixed tomorrow for hearing the remand prayer in presence of Pori Moni.
On August 5, Pori Moni and her associate Ashraful Islam Dipu were shown arrested in the case filed by the Rapid Action Battalion.
The previous day, members of the elite force detained them after raiding her house. They also seized a huge quantity of narcotics from her residence.
