Thousands of people have staged a demonstration in Berlin on Saturday protesting against restrictive measures placed by the government to tackle the spread of coronavirus.

They described the virus as a hoax and demanded lifting the restrictive measures.

According to BBC, some 38,000 people took to the streets mostly for peaceful demonstration.

Police arrested around 300 demonstrators while dealing with the rally. The authorities claimed that the agitators threw rocks and bottles.

Like Berlin, some other European cities also witnessed similar demonstrations.

In London, thousands gathered at Trafalgar Square to protest against issues including coronavirus restrictions and 5G.

Signs reading "masks are muzzles" and "new normal = new fascism" were held up.

Similar protests have also taken place in Paris, Vienna and Zurich.
