Coronavirus: Global death toll reaches 342,104

The number of people who lost their battle against coronavirus has reached 342,104 as of Sunday morning while the total number of confirmed cases across the globe climbed to 5,311,089.

At the same time, a total of 2,112,198 Covid-19 patients have so far made full recovery, according to John Hopkins Coronavirus Resource Center.

Coronavirus, first reported in China in December last year, is highly infectious and spread to over 213 countries and territories around the world and two international conveyances.

The US has been the worst-hit country having the highest number of infections and deaths – more than 1,622,670 cases and 97,087 deaths.

Meanwhile, Brazil has reached the second position with 347,398 cases and 22,013 deaths.

The World Health Organization (WHO) declared the coronavirus crisis a pandemic on March 11.

Bangladesh has so far confirmed 32,078 cases and 452 deaths as the health authorities has detected 1,873 new cases with 20 more death till Saturday.

Bangladesh reported its first cases on March 8 and the first death on March 18.
