HC orders TCB to sell products in upazila level  

The High Court has ordered the concerned authority to take necessary steps to sell the products of Trading Corporation of Bangladesh (TCB) in the upazila level within seven days.

Currently, TCB is selling its products in the pouroshabha (municipality) level which is leaving a few areas out of its purview.

TCB has thus been ordered to sell their products in the upazila level so that everyone can buy them.

The bench of Justice JBM Hassan came up with the order after a virtual hearing on Wednesday in this regard.

The court asked the secretary of Commerce Dr Md Jafar Uddin; Ahmad Kaikaus, the principle secretary of the Prime Minister's Office and Brig Gen Md Hasan Jahangir, the chairman of TCB to take necessary measures and comply with the decision and report via the state lawyer on the next hearing day.

Barrister M Humaun Kabir Pallob, accompanied by Mohammad Kawser, represented the writ while Deputy Attorney General Samarendra Nath Biswas joined the virtual hearing representing the state.

Pallob filed the writ on May 31 on behalf of Law And Life Foundation, the court also fixed June 11 for the next hearing on this matter.
