The authorities of United Hospital have been sued for the death of five people in a fire at the establishment on May 27.
Ronald Ricky Gomez, son-in-law of Vernon Anthony Paul -- one of the victims of the fire -- filed the case with Gulshan Police Station last night, said SM Kamruzzaman, officer-in-charge of the police station.
Managing committee members, doctors and nurses concerned of United Hospital have been made accused in the case. Allegation of negligence was brought against them for the death of the five patients, Mofazzal Hossain, duty officer of the police station, told The Daily Star.
OC Kamruzzaman said they are investigating the matter.
