Dhaka, Feb 4 (Just News) : The President of the Swiss Confederation, Alain Berset, will arrive in Dhaka today on a three-day official visit to Bangladesh.

The Swiss president is scheduled to land at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the afternoon.

President Abdul Hamid will welcome his Swiss counterpart at the airport. Later, the Swiss president will be given a guard of honour and static guard.

Foreign Minister AH Mahmood Ali may call on the Swiss president at the Panpacific Sonargaon in the evening.Alain Berset is scheduled to visit the National Mausoleum at Savar to pay tribute to the myartars of the Liberation War of Bangladesh on Monday morning.

He is expected to attend a programme of the businesses of Bangladesh and Switzerland in the afternoon.

He is scheduled to have talks with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina and his Bangladeshi counterpart Abdul Hamid in the evening.

Alain Berset will leave Dhaka for Cox’s Bazar on Tuesday morning to see for himself the plight of the displaced Myanmar residents.

He will talk to the displaced people and hear their pain and sufferings during his stay in Cox’s Bazar.

The Swiss President is scheduled to leave Dhaka for his country on Wednesday, wrapping up his four-day official visit to Bangladesh.

According to Swiss Mission in Dhaka, this is the first official visit by a Swiss president to Bangladesh.
