Three people were killed as a bus hit a pickup van on Dhaka-Aricha highway in Dhamrai upazila of Dhaka early today.
Confirming the incident, Monirul Islam, officer-in-charge of Golora Highway Police Station, said the accident happened around 7:30am near Bathuli bus stand.
A Paturia-bound bus belonging to Falguni Paribahan hit the Dhaka-bound pickup van, leaving three people dead on the spot.
Identity of the deceased could not be known immediately, said the OC.
The vehicles were seized but the bus driver went into hiding.
Bodies of the victims were kept at the police station, he added.
