Teknaf OC Pradeep takes leave on medical ground

Teknaf police station officer-in-charge Pradeep Kumar Das took leave on health ground and senior-most officer inspector (investigation) ABMS Doha took his charge, authorities said on Wednesday.

Cox’s Bazar police superintendent ABM Masud Hossain confirmed that Pradeep took the leave on Tuesday.

Masud said Pradeep cited medical ground for his leave.

Pradeep was made one of the nine accused in a case filed by Sharmen Shahria Ferdush, the sister of slain retired army major Sinha Mohammad Rashed Khan Adnan, on Wednesday over his death in police firing.

Sinha was killed by police at a checkpoint on Cox’s Bazar-Teknaf Marine Drive at Shamlapur in Cox’s Bazar on July 31.
