Attorney General Mahbubey Alam has been moved to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the Combined Military Hospital (CMH) in Dhaka, where he is being treated for the last two weeks after being diagnosed with Covid-19.
“He was shifted to the ICU early in the morning,” said Deputy Attorney General AKM Amin Uddin Manik on Friday, citing Alam’s family members.
According to him, Alam’s pulse rate increased and he was having some breathing complications.
“But it was nothing serious,” added Manik.
The attorney general was admitted to the CMH on September 4 after his Covid-19 test came back positive.
Seventy one year old Mahbubey Alam has been serving as the state’s chief legal officer since 2009. The former president of the Supreme Court Bar Association has been practicing law at the High Court since 1975.
