No annual exam in secondary schools: Dipu Moni

Education minister Dipu Moni in an online briefing on Wednesday said that there was no chance of opening the educational institutions anytime soon and no annual examination would be held at any secondary schools.

The schools would give assignments to the students based on a short syllabus developed for Class 6 to Class 9 students for assessing knowledge, Dipu Moni said.

‘Our intention is to get an idea about the learning that the students achieved during the suspension of classroom activities amid COVID-19 outbreak,’ she said.

National Curriculum and Textbook Board developed the syllabuses to be completed in a month in November and those would be distributed to all schools through the Directorate of Secondary and Higher Education, she said.

The students, whose parents migrated for the COVID-19, would get chance to take and submit assignments at their nearby schools, Dipu Moni said.
