The depression now lies over North-west Bay and adjoining West-central Bay, the forecast added.
Monsoon might remain active around Bangladesh for the next 48 hours. Heavy rainfall will be experienced in North Bay areas, said Meteorologist Bajlur Rashid.
"Heavy rainfall is expected throughout the day over coastal areas. Dhaka will also experience heavy to moderate rainfall throughout the day."
Also, light to moderate rain/thunder showers accompanied by temporary gusty wind is likely to occur at most places over Rajshahi, Dhaka, Mymensingh, Khulna, Barishal, Chattrogram and Sylhet divisions and many places over Rangpur division, according to the forecast.
Warning signal no. 3 was hoisted at the sea ports of Chattogram, Cox's Bazar, Mongla and Payra, said Bajlur, adding that all fishing trawlers and boats were also cautioned in the northern Bay.
