Bangladesh logged an additional 21 deaths and 578 infections from COVID-19 in the past 24 hours on Saturday, counting the death toll to 7,883 and infections to 527,063.
Among the deceased, 13 were male and eight female patients.
A Directorate General of Health Services release came up with the latest COVID-19 data.
Some 12,215 specimens were tested in the timeline at 199 labs across the country.
Bangladesh had tested a total of 34,44,007 specimens as of January 16.
A total of 633 patients were declared free from novel coronavirus infection in the past 24 hours totalling the recovery to 471,756.
Bangladesh on March 8 reported the first COVID-19 positive cases while the first death was logged ten days later on March 18.
