India to send 2m vaccine doses to Bangladesh Jan 20

The Indian government will send two million doses of AstraZeneca-developed vaccines on January 20, said director general of DGHS ABM Khurshid Alam.

It's a gift to Bangladesh from India, he said, without giving further details.

Earlier in the day, health minister Zahid Maleque said India will gift a good number of vaccines to Bangladesh.

It may be before the first cache of vaccines Bangladesh expects to get by January 25 under the deal with Serum Institute of India and Beximco, the minister said in a meet-the-reporters event at Dhaka Reporters' Unity.
