COVID-19 claims 22 more, infects 436 in Bangladesh

Bangladesh logged an additional 22 deaths and 436 infections from COVID-19 in the past 24 hours on Saturday, counting the death toll to 8,003 and infections to 531,326.

Among the deceased, 17 were male and five female patients.

A Directorate General of Health Services release came up with the latest COVID-19 data.

Some 11,115 specimens were tested in the timeline at 200 labs across the country.

Bangladesh had tested a total of 35,41,389 specimens as of January 23.

A total of 338 patients were declared free from novel coronavirus infection in the past 24 hours totalling the recovery to 475,899.

Bangladesh on March 8 reported the first COVID-19 positive cases while the first death was logged ten days later on March 18.
