Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today virtually inaugurated the country's pilot Covid-19 vaccination programme at Kurmitola General Hospital.
Five government employees will receive Covid-19 vaccine at the inaugural programme.
The event started at 3:30pm where Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina joined virtually.
The five vaccine recipients are -- Runu Veronica Costa, a senior nurse of KGH; Dr Ahmed Lutful Moben, a doctor of KGH; Prof Dr Nasima Sultana, additional director general of the health directorate; Md Didarul Alam, a traffic police of Motijheel Zone; and Brigadier General M Imran Hamid of Bangladesh Army.
Director Brigadier General Jamil Ahmed of the hospital confirmed this to the journalists.
