Sylhet, Feb 26 (Just News): Four workers were killed and three others injured in a landslide while extracting stones from a quarry in Bholaganj area of Companiganj upazila in Sylhet.
The land of the stone quarry collapsed on the workers while they were extracting stones by operating generator.Four workers were killed and three others injured in a landslide while extracting stones from a quarry in Bholaganj area of Companiganj upazila in Sylhet on Sunday night.
The deceased are Ruhul Amin, 22, and Motibur, 32, of Muradpur area, Ashik Ali, 30, of Cholerbando village in Dakhshin Sunamganj upazila and Atabur, 40, of Kolokka village in Jamalganj upazila.
The land of the stone quarry collapsed on the workers while they were extracting stones by operating generator around 9:30pm, said Shafiqur Rahman, officer-in-charge of Companiganj Police Station
On information, police recovered the bodies of Ruhul Amin and Motibur around 11:30pm.
Police also retrieved two other bodies from the quarry on Monday morning. The injured workers were admitted to Companiganj Health Complex.
Police, meanwhile, arrested a labour leader Abdur Rouf.
