Bangladesh logged the highest 78 deaths in a single day in the past 24 hours on Sunday and 5,819 infections from COVID-19.
With this, the death toll hits 9,739 and infections to 684,756.
The Directorate General of Health Services release came up with the latest COVID-19 update.
Among the deceased, 53 were male 25 were female patients.
Some 29,376 specimens were tested in the timeline at 248 labs across the country.
Bangladesh had tested a total of 50,02,865 specimens as of April 11.
A total of 4,212 patients were declared free from novel coronavirus infection in the past 24 hours totalling the recovery to 576,590.
Bangladesh on March 8, 2020 reported the first COVID-19 positive cases while the first death was logged ten days later on March 18, 2020.
